Can I Invest When My Father Create A Custodial Account

I've been discussing with my dad about him possibly creating a custodial account for me for investing since I'm under 18. I found interest in the investment platform Fidelity which would allow him to create a custodial account. However I've notice that it says the parents need to be the ones investing. Does this mean I have no other option on the site or other platforms for investing on my own? Can i just use his account for the time being until I turn 18 or is that super illegal and fraudulent? One more thing, I've alsp created a CashApp and one thing I really like is that I can invest using my own account. One down side though is that I haven't been able to locate or have seen the big index funds for example like the S&P 500 on it only the S&P Global is there.

PS: If you guys may, please make a list for me for other platforms that offer great custodial accounts
