I've been contemplating buying more stock(I already hold a long position)
I'm concerned that buying more after holding the original for a couple years will turn all the stock into shortterm gains of I need to sell it.
I don't know all the nuances of trading. If I buy more and have to sell due to personal circumstances ( No one knows the future) will all the stock I've nought be turned into short term gains or will the original stock I've gotten stay in long term and the new stock bought be taxed under short term?
