I’m looking to sell off the majority of my stocks and pick up etfs instead. I’ve held most positions for quite a while (10 years in many cases) and am looking at significant capital gains tax. I have a few losers but they won’t go far in balancing out gains. Is there any tax advantage to selling everything at the same time or spreading it over multiple years?
