Beginners question: for how long after news gets out do you buy a stock?

Hey I'm new to stocks and mostly use the WealthSimple app. I was looking at the top gainers stocks and found LifeWorks Inc. on top of that chart with an increase of 66% today.

After how much time is it too late to ride the bandwagon? And how do you guys find jackpots like that? Seems like a stupid question, but do you keep track of the news for every company?

Also any tips?
