Averaging down.

Let’s say I own 1000 shares of a stock with an average price of 4$.

Let’s say that stock is down to 1$.

In order for me to cut my losses and move on. If I buy 4000 shares of this stock now at 1$, any movement on the stock will break me even.

Is this accurate?
