Are experts just always predicting market apocalypse?

New to this. I read this article about an upcoming “cataclysmic shift” and got a little spooked. Is there anything to this? Or is it just that we’re moving into less of a growth market with the interest rate hikes (which seem like they are mostly priced in as-of a week ago)?

Seems like now might not be the best time to invest in an immature, unprofitable tech company. But what about an established tech company that’s still priced to grow, like NVDA, AMD, etc?

I get that this is just one article with anonymous sources, so I’m absolutely overreacting. But I can’t deny that I’m now full of doubt.
