In an attempt to cut delivery costs, Amazon is offering US customers a one-time $10 discount if they choose to pickup their order (rather than have it delivered). The offer applies on all orders with a value of $25 or more. So, Amazon wants to encourage more people to pick-up their orders?
Doesn’t Amazon realise that the reason people use their service is for the convenience… and a large part of this convenience is having your stuff delivered to your doorstop…?
In other news, this isn’t exactly surprising considering Amazon recently decided to cut 27,000 jobs, mainly targeting its advertising unit.
