I want to put some of my paycheck in an etf, but instead of doing an auto investment, I would love to find a tool that would notify me when there is a specified dip in the market. For example, let's say this was based on an (arbitrarily picked) 6 week rolling average. This tool would notify me of a 2% dip, and then I would invest $20, $50 for 5%, and $100 for 8%. It would be awesome if this was automatic, but I would be ok with doing it manually based off notifications. I haven't quite figured out the formula I would use, so that's just an example. This would be for the purpose of buying and holding; knowing when to sell is a whole other game I'm not interested in.
