AAPL is moving some of its iPad production from China to Vietnam after strict Covid-19 lockdowns disrupted Apple's supply chain and product distribution.
Last year, the tech giant shipped about 58 million iPads worldwide, the vast majority of them from China, and the shift in production points in one fell swoop shows Apple's plans to diversify and expand its supply network.
To further prevent any problems in the supply chain, Apple specifically asked its suppliers in China to increase inventories, including printed circuit boards, mechanical and electronic components, and other key components used to efficiently produce and sell products.
Wedbush Securities said Apple could be one of the main beneficiaries as supply chain issues in Asia have begun to improve over the past week.
