Investing is not comparable to growing a tomato plant. It's more comparable to growing a TREE.
If you plant an apple tree or an orange tree or an avocado tree and it doesn't mature and produce fruit in 6 months do you get frustrated and uproot it? No, I hope not.
Short term market volatility is not an indicator of a company's fundamental value.
If you like a company, after you've done your research into the fundamentals, and you're confident the company will be around in 20 years then don't sell it. Buy more of it if it goes down.
If you were confident enough to pay $100 for the stock 3 months ago then why wouldn't you want to pay $75 now?
