Tobacco stocks, I need your help please.

So after doing some research I've noticed investing in tobacco companies such as Phillip Morris would be a great addition to my portfolio.

BUT, something inside me tells me I shouldn't do it. I am totally aware that a lot of investments we think are perfectly fine, could also be seeing as inmoral. For example, one can argue that investing in a mining/energy companies is bad because our planet, etc.

I have always said I'm not touching tobacco or defense companies, but now I feel like a hypocrite. Why? Because I invest in an alcohol company (Pernod Ricard) which is as bad or worse than tocacco, since drinking nowadays is socially accepted (at least where I live) and alcoholism not only kills but tears family apart.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this “inmoral investing” topic and how do you deal with it. I know this subreddit is about stocks and investing, sorry if this should posted elsewhere.

Excuse my gramatical mistakes. I'm still trying to improve my English.

Take care in this crazy market! Love from Spain 🙂
