Selling Winners to Buy the Dip?

I still have some really good positions on CC, DD, FDX, & XOM and I was thinking of selling most or all to buy some of the recent dips; I feel my money now has a better chance to grow elsewhere. Particularly in DIS, GOOG, & INTC (to strengthen positions of shares already held).

I'm somewhat new to this, at least the selling part; I typically hold long and DCA over the years. For a myriad of reasons, I no longer have any cash to inject into my portfolio; thus, the need to loosen up some cash in my portfolio.

What are your thoughts on this? Is this a common strategy?

Note: I have been thinking of realizing these gains for awhile; they've far exceeded my expectations and I'm not greedy.
