Started in 2020 after Covid Crash. Been buying tech stocks and accumulated around $167k profit at the highest point back in 2021 March.
2021 April crashed, and until last week i was still up around $60k profit while most of the people were in loss already.
Got greedy and tried to time the re-bounce by buying a shit ton of options – well fuck. Lost all profits today and now I'm in loss at around $5k.
Note to myself:
- Do not mess around with high leverage options.
- Secure profit when playing options – I got greedy and even if I guessed the right direction I didn't take profit. Eventually it turned tide and took a big L.
- Be hard working and do not hope that you're the 0.01% who made millions overnight.
Currently I still have positions in VTI (large position), some big tech stocks and a few small cap companies. Gonna start dca-ing every month now and see how it goes 5 years from now.
TLDR: were in $167 profit but lost all due to gambling options.
