Would you rather invest in “GOOGL” with a market value of trillions now, or “GOOGL” with a market value of trillions in the future?

In stock investing, have you ever come across the thought: I should invest in stable and mature big companies? Or an emerging tech company?

We make some guesses below.

It's like a multiple choice question, two types:

  1. The company has a large scale, has a mature and stable market scale and customer base, and is in an absolute leading position in this field. It is difficult for other companies to compete with them in a short period of time, such as GOOGL/AAPL/MSFT/NVDA, etc., whose market value is as high as hundreds of billions or even trillions of dollars;

  2. The scale of the enterprise is not very large, but it has developed for a period of time and is growing rapidly. The business type belongs to the semiconductor, communication, Internet, biopharmaceutical and other technical fields that are very optimistic in the future, and the company has a very great advantage in technology. Perhaps the company's market cap is now in the billions to tens of billions of dollars.

Which of the two types above would you choose? Or invest a certain percentage of both?

To be honest, mature and stable companies can only represent the present. Regarding the future, even very large companies are still uncertain. For example, the former Nokia and Lehman Brothers also fell.

So, I think we should all have some plans for the future. It may be difficult for many people to choose the future, so you need to know more. You need to find a way to learn. You should believe that the world is always changing. Especially in the age of technology, change will be faster and bigger.

My personal opinion is that you should choose between the two if your financial situation allows it.

What do you think?
