SEC activity for $T (At&t) yesterday

Positions: slightly over 700 shares after the recent dividend payout and reinvestment. 25 contracts Jan2023 35c

I couldn't include a screenshot, so I'll include Stankey's SEC link, there are 17 more: http://archive.fast-edgar.com/20220202/AOZZI22CS222V2M2222R22Z28ELQZ228XQ42/

Almost every filing involves insiders acquiring shares and there are 18 instances. Is this a show of faith for the spin off? Is this just pre-scheduled activity? Tomorrow, Stankey and the Discovery CEO will be on Squawk Box and Stankey does not typically do well in interviews, or rather the stock does not typically do well, is tomorrow any different? Will tomorrow be a hit piece? I think that in the 15 minutes leading up to open the other day, CNBC said everything they could to tank the price, and then miraculously 4.8mil shares were traded in the first minute of regular trading. I think “someone” wanted in, but I recognize that is crazy.

I got into $T for the dividend and for the spin off potential. I do happen to use the services, so I was happy to buy into a dividend I liked with a company I use. Every article I read was forecasting the dividend would be cut in half, and it was. I was pleasantly surprised that the stock price didn't really get hammered – despite CNBCs best efforts. What happens with the dividend going forward? Does it increase? Does At&t remain a company whose dividend seems to be a point of pride and main attraction for investors?

The other day I was making some calls for mortgages, my primary employment, and I started talking to a supervisor who works for a company that services and upgrades cell towers. His company works for all of the providers and does what the provider asks them to do. I asked him who the winner was in 5G and he said without hesitation “Tmobile”. That was 3 days before Tmobile's earnings, I wish I had bought. He said that they are the only company shelling out the proper amount of money to not only quickly get their network upgraded, but to also properly get their network upgraded. He used a lot of jargon I didn't understand, and he kept shouting to guys working on the tower, but he had a lot to say about why Tmobile was better. How much room is there for providers, should his statements be taken to mean At&t is on the way out?

I'd really like to hear some comments on the discovery/warner end of the spinoff, or really just any discussion about why $T is or is not a good place to be. I have my reasons why I think it is a good place to be, but I'm definitely biased by my position and welcome the negative aspects I am missing or overlooking.
