J Pow, mood killer?

So this past Thursday the market was primed for a nice rally. Coming off a few bad weeks in a row, Tesla posted a monster earnings report and the market started out in a great mood. All green across the board. It seemed like a catalyst everyone was waiting for. Then J Pow pokes his head out and issues a statement that they might have to do a 0.5 rate increase next month which completely crushed all market momentum. Nevermind the fact that everyone already knew this, why would he feel the need to reiterate that again? I get they want to tame inflation, but it really seems like he wants to crush the stock market in the process. Anyone else see this as well?
