If a growth company, such as GOOG or AMZN, said that they were done growing and just want to pay dividends now, what would happen?

How do you think that would play out? Considering how profitable they are currently and how much they can afford to pay out to shareholders, would you stay invested in a growth stock like this if they were done dumping their profits into growing more rapidly and instead just wanted to pay their shareholders?

I'm assuming that this is the end goal for every growth company. If you disagree, why?
