Can an LLC as an entity buy stocks?

This is a question for the wise ones.

An LLC has an EIN which is a corporate equivalent of an SSN.

Is it possible (or even advisable) to register an LLC and use it to buy stocks?

If yes, what should you know before doing this?

If no, why?
