I've been holding the levered ETFs (UCO and BOIL) for oil and NG exposure but am looking at equity plays. I realize it doesn't require brilliant financial analysis to make money in energy over the past year but thought I would post here for ideas… or maybe just throw darts,
Coal is looking attractive and BTU (Peabody) is on my radar.
I'm also considering OXY, DVN, and CHK but don't really understand market intricacies.
What are a few good energy stocks to own with potential alpha over /NG and /CL futures or their corresponding EFTs? What is the argument to invest in the underlying commodities vs the producers?
