Hi guys, so I currently have an Equity Income Fund with Nicholas Funds and am trying to move the money to my newly created Vanguard account so that I can put it into index funds. I filled out the transfer in-kind paperwork for Vanguard, but they said I might need a medallion signature guarantee. I called customer support for Nicholas Funds (who said that I need one). However, my bank is completely online so I can't exactly get a medallion signature guarantee. In addition, I heard the process is super annoying.
I was thinking that I could just get Nicholas to send me a check with all of my money and then just wire the money to Vanguard, but I'm not sure if that's risky (check gets lost in mail or something) or comes with possible tax consequences. Thoughts?
