ETA: an audit, not “a lab audit” don’t know where lab came from lol
Please let me know if this is the wrong sub to post. I’m genuinely curious, and would just like to know why.
There is a social media company I own stock in that is having a vote. One of the questions is:
A stockholder proposal regarding an audit analyzing the Company's impacts on civil rights and non-discrimination, if properly presented at the Annual Meeting. BOARD OF DIRECTORS RECOMMENDED VOTE: AGAINST
This company is known to have helped fester alt-right groups, there is rampant racism on the site that sometimes just gets ignored by their official “online safety team” or whatever you call it.
I understand everything costs money, but wouldn’t you want your company to know it’s actual impact rather than sweeping it under the rug?
