I’m based in Ireland and I’ve been looking for an advisory/broker for some time so I do occasionally give out my number/email to be contacted.
A few days ago got a call from a guy with a posh English accent, working with a broking firm called Ability Corporate Advisory based out of Hong Kong, been in operation for some 10 years. Sounded legit, they even have a website that looks decent, no red flags there.
Your man offers up some inside info on a potential trade and tells me we can expect 25-30% in a year, no guarantees but that what we can expect.
I don’t see any red flags outright, but aside from the company website and registration details, there is nothing. No presence on LinkedIn, I can’t seem to find the broker anywhere online, so there’s literally no background other than the website.
A minimum buy in that they’ve offered is €5k, and they’ll charge a 1% commission on purchase and then again on sale.
In spite of no red flags, I’m not convinced this is legit. Has anyone dealt with them before? Anything anyone knows will be much appreciated. Thanks.
