Hello,
I work at a small biopharmaceutical company (went public in 2019, 250 employees, some phase 1 and 2 trials going on, stock price is generally 15-20$ in recent months). I am wondering what is a smart allocation of my savings money. My options are:
– up to 15% of salary going to stocks purchase at a 15% discount
– 401k with 0.5$ for every 1$ company match on the first couple thousands in company stocks
I am 30, I have no debts, a solid emergency fund in cash, but no retirement savings (because grad school). I am comfortable putting aside probably 25-30% of my paycheck. We are aspiring to be the next Regeneron, but I already have stock options so I started wondering if I am relying too much on my company's stocks. I don't think my company is going out of business any time soon, but I'm realizing I don't even know how to asses the risk of buying those stocks.
