How did you get into investing?

I’m a former young mom who’s finally finding her footing in her 30’s financially.

I have a bit of savings, and I really want to start trying to capitalize on it.

I read the wiki, I’ve read some books, but the thing is I still don’t understand how anyone knows what to invest in?

I would be investing MAX 5K, so it doesn’t seem like a broker makes sense.

How does someone get their feet wet?
