Overcoming selling at the wrong time?

Wonder if anyone else can relate to this. I have an issue where I hold a stock DCA over time, as the stock usually falling. Then I’ll get into about 5-7% profits and rather than sell, I tell myself, nope gonna be disciplined and hold long term because I believe in this. Then my 5-7% green goes away and before I know it I’m back in the red sometimes deep red. This will happen multiple times until i end up getting so far in the red I’m stuck..or I end up getting out even/flat after months of holding.

Did this with PARA, BRCC, and DOW to name a few

Then alternative is selling to soon. I get my 5-7% sell out thinking profits are profits don’t be greedy, then the ticker proceeds to go 10% + percent higher. Recently did this with IUSG. Sold at 104 from 95ish now it looks like it’s going at least over 110 in the face of nothing but bad news in the world and markets…

Idk if I’m watching these to much or what to emotional maybe.

How do you all decide on your entry, exits, and hold times? This market is so screwy I want to try to be long term but am so anxious to take gains, one week looks like the world is ending then In a day it’s party like it’s 1999….

Anyways, I’m just frustrated I went to like 40% cash 2 weeks ago thinking rates, war, inflation, gas prices we’d have for sure another drawdown. Now I’m left out of this rally which doesn’t appear to be stoppable no matter what gets thrown at it
