Does interest actually help provide market direction?

I’m looking at PEP. In my opinion it’s a great buy and has huge upside based on the macro technical analysis I’ve done.

I looked up the short interest and it’s 45% off market pool of short interest according to fintel.

How accurate or accurate in terms of price direction is using the short interest?
