So long story short I had a falling out with my advisor over at Morgan Stanley, he made unauthorized trades. So I transferred over to etrade–but now etrade is showing my account to be a negative 90k balance lol
And they're saying it has something to do with their system seeing my covered calls as naked. And the won't approve me for even level one trading which is crazy. So they said their system will go ahead and buy to close the 4 covered calls. which will cost me thousands to do.
so long story short, I'm going to try and transfer the covered calls to robinhood where i'm approved for options trading.
I have a question and I hope it's not dumb. But, does the brokerage where my call options are held affect the likelihood of them being assigned? Or is the choice of brokerage irrelevant to the chances of assignment?”
hopefully im making sense. I really don't want to be assigned, and i don't want to do anything to make that assignment more plausible. I mean I do have the shares of course to sell if it is, but you know.
