Closed-End Funds (CEF)

I have recently had my interest drawn to CEF's. What I gather is they're kinda like ETFs but way more actively managed in order to produce distributions from higher dividends and option premiums, thus having higher maintenance costs than most ETFs and mutual funds. Starting to get curious…

Is there anything else I should be wary of? From what I'm reading there are some analysts and experts saying that many CEFs are trading at steep discounts compared to net asset value (NAV) of their collective underlyings.
