Learning investing in stock (what to look for when picking the stock to portfolio)

Hi I would like to ask you for your advice on what is your main focus when analysing stock to pick to your portfolio.I understand few basic concepts like P/E ratio EPS and Dividend but what else would you add to the crucial indicaror if that pick looks as a good candidate to portfolio.
Is the main focus should be if the stock is not overpriced???
Looking at this rxample am I right that this NVIDIA stock its a no no for portfolio looking at its P/E ratio that its overperpriced or there is some more to it that would make this stock a good candidate to someones portfolio???
