Wtf is wrong with my stocks am I doing something wrong???

Beginner here
I invested money in Nikola. Nvidia and apple and I just seem to keep losing money from them. They barely make any money at all and I don't understand how these entrepreneur gurus are making fortunes off of stocks and going on these luxurious vacations . Am I not doing something right?
