live cattle prices

live cattle have been on an insane run, and are currently at an all-time high of $186/cwt or $1.86/lb. historically prices seem to peak every november, but recently they've been peaking more in the december-january range, for some reason.

anyone have any idea what is driving this crazy price increase in live cattle? lean hogs and poultry are both within their historical norms, only feeder cattle and live cattle are breaking all-time highs every week. and for some reason beef is not following this trend.
