NVS split, wide to buy now or wait untill after the split

Novartis is splitting off sandoz; 1 share for every 5 NVS.
I'm interested in buying NVS, but not sure how this will play, how will the NVS stock price change for NVS, will it be 1/6 of current value?
Does the price typically move one one or the other after a split?
