Location Based Technologies (LBAS) is a GPS based technology company that improves the lives of others through location-based information. It became intriguing when Apple allegedly infringed on their IP (intellectual property). In late 2019, the company sued Apple for the use of their battery saving capabilities and GPS system within a LOT of Apple phones. A few months ago, in December 2021 and January 2022, they went through oral arguments, one of the last steps to determine whether a settlement will be made or it will go to court. That time is coming soon. The CEO is supposed to provide an update within 45 days of end of February on this lawsuit.
That being said, this isn't the only thing going on for the company. There is an idea that private company, Skybell (a $19,000,000 company on the low end) will merge with LBAS as they are only 2 miles away and their website uses the exact same language and has the same CTO (Joe Scalisi).
Lastly, a little while back in 2021, LBAS filed a lawsuit with Uber Technologies for patent infringement.
