So I’m trying to look more deeply into tax-loss harvesting. I have about $1000 in profits from VTI, and I have an individual stock that I’m down about $5000. I don’t have intentions of fully selling that stock anytime soon, but I’d like to offset some of the loss.
Is this a good way to offset some of that loss – to cash out on VTI for 1k gains and the individual stocks up to 1k loss? My thought is to then just invest that money back into the market, but sticking with just ETFs like VTI again.
Thoughts? Advice? Thanks in advance.
