Is it a good idea to change my strategy? (Read Below)

I am very much aware how everyone says never change your strategy, stick to it and work on it until you become profitable. In my case, my strategy is fundemenatally broken. Ive been trading for more than a year, and my strategy is based on techncials. I've noticed my strategy is really dependant on the overall condition of the market. Rarely do I ever make a profit when the market is in the red and vice versa. I want to move to a completely different strategy that rides on earnings expectations, post earnings surges, and insider buys. (maybe implement some of the technicals from my last strategy) I want to hear your opinions on it. But I'll probably change anyways.
