Disclaimer: None of this is investment advice, don't do any investing based on what random people say on reddit. I know I'm not smart and can't do better than real analysts, probably you aren't either. Be careful of currency risk. I intend to invest a tiny amount of money on this strategy which I can afford to lose. The most likely amount of money I will invest in this strategy is $0. I have no Gallium-related investments right now.
Background: I don't agree with the CSIS on a lot of their descriptive or prescriptive geopolitics, but they have an interesting report on Gallium production: https://www.csis.org/analysis/understanding-chinas-gallium-sanctions.
I was thinking that it could be fun to invest in some of the (potential) Gallium producers mentioned (directly or indirectly) in that report, in case they benefit from higher prices, higher demand, or higher (government?) investment. So here are my questions:
- General thoughts?
- The CSIS report gives an example Japanese Gallium recycler. Any thoughts on the biggest or most interesting Gallium recyclers? (that are not sanctioned in the US)
- The CSIS report gives an example (publicly traded) Japanese Gallium refiner. Any thoughts on the biggest or most interesting Gallium refiners? (that are not sanctioned in the US) What about Rasa Industries (the one mentioned in the report)?
- The CSIS report mentions some companies that might be likely to start Gallium production/recovery. Any thoughts on companies like this?
