Why do sellers want the value to drop and the buyers want the value to increase?

Shouldn’t it be the opposite? Sorry if I sound dumb I’m new and learning, but I’m just completely confused: if I’m a seller wouldn’t I want the value of the stock I’m selling to increase so I can sell it more expensive, not the other way around? And if I’m a buyer wouldn’t I want the stock I’m buying to drop so I can buy it cheaper and sell it for more later on?
