Hello everyone, I’m brand new to learning about trading stocks and such. Being new, I’ve tried googling to learn as much as I can but to be honest. None of it is really sticking.
So the other day, I looked up high dividend paying stocks. Found MSB, bought 76 shares of it. Now in my portfolio (using the Wells Fargo app) there is several lines of information that I just don’t understand what they mean and hope someone could break it down to dummy levels for me.
Costs basis
Dividend
Dividend distribution
Effective yield
Earnings per share
Also, on the app it doesn’t tell me the next dividend payout date, how does that work? It just tells me the last date.
And lastly, when buying, can someone explain the difference (again dummy version) in the difference between market, limit, etc.
Thank you for any input and if anyone can direct me to some good learning sources I would greatly appreciate it!
