Is it bad idea to accumulate short term profits?

Hi everyone,

I am back into market after a very very long time. I used to trade in stock market about a decade ago and we had some rules to follow. Never had significant losses.

Now that I am back with my own money to invest, my broker account fucked up on the day of lowest. So like every newbie, I kept waiting and saw market going up. Just to check if my account was working, I made some transactions on tiny bit higher price, that ended up being like 200-300$ per day. So over the week, i have made about 1500$ net profit.

I sold stock at their highest, making 25% profit on each stock I had. Except one, most of them fell back again. Now I am waiting for next opportunity with 1500$ more. I know it could have been more but I am fine just by making a little.

Am I wrong to cash out profits because I don’t wanna miss highs?
