I have a question about deposit protection, or where my shares and funds are actually stored.
For example, with Bitcoin, I like that I save it on my hardware wallet (via blockchain) and I am essentially my own bank. I have BTC stored with me, with access that only I have, and I can watch the market price in peace.
As far as I know, there is no such storage for stocks and I have to keep it all with brokers of which there are dozens of verified ones to choose from. Okay, I do it like everyone else, but I thought what if a company like Etoro, Trading 212, etc. goes bankrupt. What happens to my deposits then? Will they be transferable somewhere or how does it work?
