I wanted to share an idea and get some feedback on its viability and if there are any existing alternative solutions out there.
When Reddit was fighting on the FRC debate, I really wanted to know who is credible and aggregated opinions on the price direction tomorrow.
An alternative is the option market, which can be misleading as institutions often use it for hedging.
So, here's my idea – what if there was a game that gave players limited tokens to bet on whether a stock price would close up or down by the end of the day or week? Correct predictions would be rewarded, much like in sports betting. If most people bet going up but you bet going down and won, you will receive substantial tokens while others lose.
The game would allow skilled investors to earn more tokens while bad players would not. Assuming the game becomes big enough with 1,000 players, I'm curious to know if you would be interested in playing and or check out how the current bets are.
Additionally, you could check the credibility of a player by looking at the large number of tokens they have, indicating that they are skilled and perhaps more credible.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on this idea.
