Hello! I'm new at stock trading and have yet to really get into it. I work for a company that is required to give out profit sharing to all of its employees every quarter.
My question is, can companies manipulate their stock to not pay this profit sharing out? As in get their stock to drop towards the end of every quarter in order to report a loss and not pay it out. I work for a huge company and the pay out would cost them millions if they even reported a small percentage of earnings.
The only reason I wonder is because over the last 3 quarters it's seemed that their stock goes way up in the middle of each quarter and then back down towards the end. Is it possible that they're doing it on purpose??
Thanks for any help!
