I need an analogy that could best describe investing heavily to max out my 401k, HSA, and IRA in low cost index funds.
I used to think a good one was:
“I’m just shoveling as much fuel into to the fire as I can”
But then I thought, that doesn’t sound right because I don’t like the sound of my money as something that is constantly burning.
Then I was thinking of a line from Kevin O’Leary in Shark Tank:
“My dollars are like soldiers, when I send them out to war I want them to bring back more casualties”
Then I thought, that doesn’t sound right either because what if my soldiers die, and even if they bring back casualties aren’t they more like prisoners of war? That’s kind of sad?
So this is where I ask the sub.
What are some cool ways to describe trying to block out the distractions around you, being laser focused, and hustling to to ensure you are maxing out your 401k, HSA, IRA, every single year all while investing in low cost index funds for the grand prize of an early retirement.
Thanks
