Does anyone else think data revisions seem manipulative? I don’t know entirely what it means when these data reports come out like consumer credit and CPI but I get a grasp and I listen to economists to get a better idea. Regardless of this I feel like releasing data on a certain date that’s marked on everyone’s calendar and then a month later changing those numbers seems off. Just release the numbers when you’re positive they are right. I feel like it’s a scheme to reduce the number of retail investors that know the actual numbers. There’s a lot of other things that people take as normal that I feel are manipulative too, but I guess there’s nothing we can do about it.
