How the daily report card helped me break seemingly unbreakable bad trading habits

Early in my trading career I had major issues with overtrading. Often 500+ executions per day. It took me 18 months of effort and trying tons of methods to break the habit (even had to get my wife to lock me out of my trading software multiple times after I hit my daily trade limit!!)

One of the major changes I made was consistently completing and publicly posting my Daily Report Card. This accountability process has helped me stay focused on:

  • Respecting my risk management plan
  • Following my trade system rules
  • Improving trader psychology / mental health
  • Achieving my trading & investment goals
  • Pursuing continuous learning and improvement

I don't know if it's the micro dopamine hit I get every time I check off a task and the score updates in real-time but for whatever reason this DRC has worked for me and I'm happy to share a template of it for free as others may find it helpful.

If you would like access to it feel free to DM me.
