From 2010-2019 my portfolio consisted of low risk ETFs. The February/March 2020 crash cost me a -50 % or so dip. All profits from 2010-2019 were gone. I decided to up my risk and it paid off. In March 2021 I was up 200 %.
Today, I’m neither -50 % nor +200 % but actually pretty much 0 %. However, I’ve added quite a bit to my positions which means that in order to reach the same profits as a 200 % gain got me in March 2021, I need “only” an 80 % gain from current levels.
I’m left feeling sort of.. I don’t know – “meh” is maybe the right word. I will say though that I am optimistic about the future.
How do my years since the 2020 COVID crash compare to yours?
