I am still learning and have not seriously invested, just here and there with a few bucks. I am still learning from cheap mistakes along the way. I am getting pretty comfortable with the idea of doing my first ever deep dive into a company. I am looking at Diana Shipping (DSX) as my candidate for a first. I picked it because I like to think I have a better than most understanding of logistics as it's my job as a truck driver who works for my local ports delivering shipping containers all day. I am around these huge dry bulk ships constantly and they have interested me so I want to learn more. Just from basic front page info Diana is a Greece based company with 79 ships total. They used to have 80 but they sold one a few days ago. They have peeked my interest compared to the colossal ZIM or Maresk shipping lines because just from looking at it the business seems alright. I cant really tell you how with confidence yet but that's why I want to do a thorough DD into this company. I want to validate my own claim with quantitative data and research to back it up. This will be a huge learning experience for me and will take awhile and be absolutely terrible but I'm here to stumble and learn from mistakes to be better.
Anyhow I am just wanting some general advise about doing a first deep dive into a company.
