I have a small position in a company that appeared to be good until I dug deeper into the finacials.
Besides the point of this post, they list 400m in intangibles that greatly boosts their assets (33%).
This company had been losing money previous to this year, but has posted very good quarters sequentially.
Upon looking closer at their income statements I see they list a $27m income under interest expense. Labeled as non-operations income.
I understand that non-operations income is income outside of the usual operation of the business but how could this company be making pretty much it's entire net income from non-operations?
I haven't been doing this long. Surely this isn't normal though, right?
