I have ~300 MSEGX (~$7700 at time of writing) shares though an investment account that was set up for me by a family member when I was a child. Im in my 20s now, in medical school, and am looking to sell off some of the shares for moving expenses. MSEGX peaked in nov 2021 ~100/share and is now ~25. Obviously I wish I sold at any point in the last 15 months when my total worth was between 18-30k but here we are.
My dilemma is sell now despite it being at its lowest price ever and if so how much? Part of me wants to liquidate it all and put it in a high yield savings account until I reinvest in my vanguard Roth IRA (currently ~$1,000). I just feel stupid selling low. When it was at 100/share a year a go I was hoping it could be a down payment on a house in a few years but now dont want to lose any more value. Thoughts?
