Ukraine is pushing for sanctions on Rosatom. Rosatom builds, supports, and supplies nuclear reactors around the world. They currently supply reactor fuel for 90 of the 450 reactors in operation as well as handle disposal of spent fuel and is actively building new reactors with India being one of their largest customers for new builds.
If sanctions are imposed as was done with Russian oil exports, countries that rely on Rosatom for fuel will need to find new suppliers. Westinghouse Nuclear, owned by BBU is able to supply Rosatom designed reactors with fuel and handle disposal.
If sanctions are imposed on Rosatom, much of their reactor fuel business will likely go to BBU’s Westinghouse Nuclear.
